Chaque fois que je mets la main sur un nouvel appareil, j'ai toujours envie de faire tourner DOOM dessus. Comme vous pouvez l'imaginer, lorsque j'ai re\u00e7u mon Raspberry Pi 5, c'est ce que j'ai fait en premier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et laissez-moi vous dire que le r\u00e9sultat a \u00e9t\u00e9 meilleur que ce que j'avais pr\u00e9vu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais mes attentes \u00e9taient bas\u00e9es sur l'utilisation de DOOM sur mon Raspberry Pi 4, alors commen\u00e7ons par l\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais tout d'abord, au cas o\u00f9 vous auriez besoin d'un rappel, DOOM a vu le jour au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 90. Une \u00e9quipe de d\u00e9veloppeurs d'id Software a cr\u00e9\u00e9 ce jeu 3D innovant et l'a publi\u00e9 sous forme de shareware en 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C'est dans cet esprit qu'id Software a rendu public le code source \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 90, permettant ainsi aux joueurs de cr\u00e9er leurs propres niveaux, de les modifier et m\u00eame de revoir enti\u00e8rement le gameplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quoi qu'il en soit, le jeu r\u00e9tro \u00e9tant l'une des utilisations les plus courantes (si ce n'est la plus courante) des Raspberry Pis, DOOM r\u00e8gne en ma\u00eetre. C'est donc par l\u00e0 que je voulais commencer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Petite pr\u00e9cision : comme vous pouvez le voir sur l'image du titre, je parle de DOOM classique, pas de DOOM 3. J'y jouerai en temps voulu, cependant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DOOM sur Raspberry Pi 4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cela fait donc longtemps que j'aime jouer \u00e0 DOOM sur mes Raspberry Pis. Mais la question se pose de savoir quelle version de DOOM est la meilleure pour un Pi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L'un des plus courants <a href=\"https:\/\/doomwiki.org\/wiki\/Source_port\">Moteurs DOOM<\/a> est Chocolate DOOM. Il s'agit de l'une des distributions les plus conservatrices, qui s'en tient vraiment au jeu classique. Parmi les autres variantes populaires, citons GZDOOM, Zandronum et Crispy DOOM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J'ai choisi Chocolate DOOM, parce qu'il est assez l\u00e9ger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faire fonctionner Chocolate DOOM sur un Raspberry Pi 4 est assez simple. Il s'agit d'installer Chocolate DOOM et de choisir les fichiers WAD que vous souhaitez ex\u00e9cuter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les fichiers WAD (qui signifient \"Where's All the Data ?\") contiennent les cartes, les textures et les sons de diff\u00e9rents niveaux. Ce sont ces fichiers que les joueurs transforment pour cr\u00e9er de nouvelles variantes de DOOM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examinons donc l'une de ces modifications : <a href=\"https:\/\/freedoom.github.io\/download.html\">Freedoom (en anglais)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freedoom se pr\u00e9sente sous trois formes : Freedoom Phase 1 et Phase 2, qui sont similaires aux jeux classiques, et FreeDM, qui est un mod qui vise le deathmatch multijoueur. Ainsi, au lieu d'attaquer les cr\u00e9atures apparues, vous attaquez les autres joueurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je voulais l'utiliser comme exemple pour montrer comment il fonctionne sur Raspberry Pi 4. Il n'y a pas d'autres joueurs et aucun ennemi n'est apparu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je dois dire que FreeDM est relativement fluide, mais qu'il devient parfois un peu collant et qu'il pourrait certainement \u00eatre plus fluide. Encore une fois, c'est sans ennemis. Avec des ennemis, le gameplay peut rapidement se d\u00e9caler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alors que je me promenais et ramassais des armes au hasard, j'ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de courir... <em>btop<\/em> pour voir comment mon Raspberry Pi 4 se d\u00e9brouillait avec la charge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si vous regardez la photo ci-dessus, vous verrez rapidement que Chocolate DOOM repr\u00e9sente 8,8% de la charge du CPU. Mais pendant mes tests, Chocolate DOOM a fluctu\u00e9 entre 8% et 20% de la charge du processeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C'est une quantit\u00e9 excessive pour une version sans ennemis. Et, sans surprise, si vous vous rendez sur reddit et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Doom\/\">r\/DOOM<\/a>Vous y trouverez un certain nombre de messages avec des plaintes similaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je me demandais donc \u00e0 quoi cela ressemblerait sur Raspberry Pi 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DOOM sur Raspberry Pi 5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour \u00eatre honn\u00eate, j'aurais \u00e9t\u00e9 satisfait de la moiti\u00e9 de la charge du processeur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je me suis assis avec le Raspberry Pi 5. J'ai branch\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/keeping-raspberry-pi-5-cool\/\">un fan de Pimoroni SHIM<\/a> (comme je l'avais fait avec mon Raspberry Pi 4). Je l'ai connect\u00e9 aux broches GPIO, je l'ai branch\u00e9 au moniteur et je l'ai allum\u00e9 \u00e0 l'aide du nouveau bouton d'alimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une fois qu'il a d\u00e9marr\u00e9, j'ai imm\u00e9diatement install\u00e9 Chocolate DOOM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>J'ai ouvert Chocolate DOOM et voil\u00e0 qu'il fonctionne parfaitement. FreeDM ne semblait pas coller du tout, alors je me suis dit que j'allais le pousser. J'ai fait tourner le jeu au nombre d'images par seconde le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 pendant tout ce temps sans qu'il ne se bloque le moins du monde. Et c'\u00e9tait comme \u00e7a avec toutes les versions de Chocolate DOOM que j'ai utilis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et, comme vous pouvez le voir dans <em>btop<\/em>Il a fonctionn\u00e9 \u00e0 environ 1% de la capacit\u00e9 du processeur. Et ce, pendant toute la dur\u00e9e du jeu. Il n'a jamais atteint 2% avec FreeDM ou Freedoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si vous souhaitez jouer avec votre Raspberry Pi 5, l'avenir est prometteur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Je ferai d'autres tests de jeux (y compris d'autres tests de DOOM) sur mon Raspberry Pi 5 - alors faites-moi savoir si vous voulez voir quelque chose en particulier !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concours et lettre d'information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En attendant, nous savons \u00e0 quel point il est frustrant de devoir attendre le 23 octobre pour obtenir un Raspberry Pi 5.
