In questo articolo, voglio analizzare Raspberry Pi 5 vs. Orange Pi 5 Plus vs. Rock 5 Model B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ho una confessione da fare. Il mio primo Pi \u00e8 stato in realt\u00e0 un Orange Pi che ho acquistato a Mosca nel 2015. Stavo cercando di configurare un Pi-Hole sul mio router di casa. A quel tempo e in quel luogo, era molto pi\u00f9 conveniente acquistare un Orange Pi che un Raspberry Pi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Da allora ho seguito con attenzione gli sviluppi di Orange Pis e Raspberry Pis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quindi, ora che Raspberry Pi ha rilasciato una nuova generazione, mi sembra che sia arrivato il momento di confrontare questi due prodotti l'uno con l'altro. Tuttavia, questo non renderebbe giustizia al Rock 5 Model B, che appartiene alla stessa categoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In questo articolo, quindi, voglio confrontare e contrapporre queste tre class=\"wp-block-heading\">Riassunto delle specifiche<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La prima cosa da sottolineare \u00e8 che Raspberry Pi 5 si distingue da Orange Pi 5 Plus e Rock 5 Model B per il SoC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mentre il Broadcom BCM2712 di Raspberry Pi 5 ha una configurazione a quattro core ARM Cortex-A76 con una GPU VideoCore VII, Orange Pi e Rock hanno l'RK3588 di RockChip, che ha otto core e una GPU ARM Mali-G610 MP4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Questi otto core sono notevoli sull'RK3588, perch\u00e9 quattro di essi sono ARM Cortex-A76, mentre gli altri quattro sono ARM Cortex-A55.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un'altra cosa che salta subito all'occhio sono le differenze nelle dimensioni della RAM. Al momento del lancio, Raspberry Pi 5 avr\u00e0 varianti da 4 GB e 8 GB (con 2 GB in arrivo e potenzialmente 1 GB in futuro). Ho anche visto discussioni su una potenziale variante da 16 GB, ma niente di ufficiale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al contrario, Orange Pi 5 Plus si spinge verso l'alto con 8 GB come variante inferiore e poi 16 GB e 32 GB nella parte superiore. Da quello che ho visto, il Rock 5 Model B ha la gamma pi\u00f9 ampia con opzioni da 2, 4, 8, 16 e 32 GB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per quanto riguarda l'archiviazione, tutti e tre gli SBC dispongono di slot per schede micro SD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ma Orange Pi 5 Plus e Rock 5 Model B sono anche dotati di slot M.2 M Key e E Key. Questi consentono di collegare un modulo WiFi (dato che nessuna delle due schede \u00e8 dotata di WiFi integrato) e di eseguire l'avvio tramite un'unit\u00e0 SSD NVMe. Sono inoltre dotati di slot eMMC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raspberry Pi 5 non \u00e8 dotato di slot M.2 o di prese eMMC. Tuttavia, grazie all'uscita PCIe 2.0 lane, l'avvio tramite SSD NVMe \u00e8 ora possibile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Per quanto riguarda la rete, Raspberry Pi 5 \u00e8 dotato di WiFi onboard a 2,4 GHz e 5,0 GHz 802.11ac insieme a Bluetooth 5.0 e Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Come ho gi\u00e0 detto, Orange Pi 5 Plus e Rock 5 Model B sono dotati di slot M.2 E Key ed entrambi forniscono moduli in grado di ottenere il WiFi 6 e il Bluetooth 5.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutto ci\u00f2 che dovete fare \u00e8 installare i moduli da soli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quando si tratta di video, c'\u00e8 una grande differenza tra i tre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raspberry Pi 5 ha due porte micro HDMI integrate che possono fornire 4Kp60 simultaneamente. Inoltre, dispone di due prese MIPI che possono essere utilizzate sia per la fotocamera che per il display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orange Pi 5 Plus dispone di due porte HDMI complete integrate che possono fornire fino a 8Kp60 e una porta HDMI completa per l'ingresso che pu\u00f2 fornire fino a 4Kp60. Inoltre, dispone di una presa MIPI per la fotocamera e di una presa MIPI separata per il display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il Rock 5 Model B ha due porte HDMI complete integrate che possono fornire fino a 8Kp60. Ma ha anche una porta micro HDMI per l'ingresso che fornisce fino a 4Kp60. Come l'Orange Pi, per\u00f2, ha una presa MIPI dedicata per la fotocamera e una presa MIPI separata per il display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raspberry Pi ha deciso di eliminare il jack audio per il nuovo modello. Orange Pi 5 Plus e Rock 5 Model B sono entrambi dotati di jack audio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inoltre, Raspberry Pi 5 \u00e8 dotato di due porte USB 2.0 e due porte USB 3.0, oltre alla porta USB-C per l'alimentazione. Orange Pi 5 Plus, invece, \u00e8 dotato di due porte USB 2.0, due porte USB 3.0 e una porta USB-C per l'alimentazione, <em>e <\/em> una porta USB 3.0 Tipo-C. Il Rock 5 Model B ha due porte USB 2.0, due porte USB 3.0 e una porta USB-C per l'alimentazione che pu\u00f2 funzionare anche come uscita DisplayPort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Condividono per\u00f2 alcune caratteristiche. Anche se le tre schede hanno alimentatori leggermente diversi, tutte si affidano all'USB-C. Tutte hanno pulsanti di accensione e RTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un aspetto degno di nota, prima di passare ai benchmark, \u00e8 il fattore di forma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raspberry Pi 5 rimane all'interno della famiglia standard di ammiraglie Raspberry Pi, con una dimensione di circa 90 mm x 60 mm. L'Orange Pi 5 Plus e il Rock 5 Model B, tuttavia, sono notevolmente pi\u00f9 grandi. Hanno un formato di circa 100 mm x 70 mm (chiamato anche fattore di forma Pico ITX).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parametri di riferimento<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All'inizio ho pensato di creare i miei benchmark per queste tre schede. Ma dopo averci pensato un po', ho deciso che <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nBtOEmUqASQ\">Jeff Geerling ha fornito tutti i benchmark importanti nel suo recente video su Raspberry Pi 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quindi, anche se utilizza Orange Pi 5 e non Orange Pi 5 Plus, penso che questi siano i benchmark che ci si pu\u00f2 aspettare in modo affidabile da questi tre diversi SBC. Noterete che l'Orange Pi 5 e il Rock 5 Model B fanno perdere terreno ai Raspberry Pis. Orange Pi 5 e Rock 5 Model B hanno oltre 50 GigaFLOPS, ovvero 50 miliardi di operazioni in virgola mobile al secondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nel frattempo, il Raspberry Pi 5 arriva a circa 30 GigaFLOPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L'efficienza di Orange Pi 5 e Rock 5 Model B sta spingendo il doppio dell'efficienza di Raspberry Pi 5. L'efficienza, in questo contesto, si riferisce al rendimento del benchmark HPL rispetto alle prestazioni teoriche di picco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raspberry Pi 5 raggiunge i 2,75 GigaFLOPS per Watt, mentre Rock 5 Model B arriva a 4,28 GigaFLOPS per Watt. Nel frattempo, Orange Pi 5 raggiunge i 4,64 GigaFLOPS per Watt!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeff passa poi a due benchmark che ho apprezzato molto. In particolare, quanto tempo impiega ogni scheda a codificare gli MP3 e quanto tempo impiega a compilare il kernel Linux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nel primo caso, Raspberry Pi supera Orange Pi 5 e Rock 5 Model B. Converte i file WAV in MP3 in meno di 12 secondi.
