Sempre que ponho as m\u00e3os num novo dispositivo, quero primeiro correr o DOOM nele. Bem, como podem imaginar, quando recebi o meu Raspberry Pi 5, foi isso que fiz primeiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E deixem-me dizer-vos - o resultado foi melhor do que eu esperava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mas as minhas expectativas baseavam-se na execu\u00e7\u00e3o do DOOM no meu Raspberry Pi 4, por isso vamos come\u00e7ar por a\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mas primeiro, para o caso de precisares de uma atualiza\u00e7\u00e3o, o DOOM come\u00e7ou no in\u00edcio dos anos 90. Uma equipa de programadores da id Software criou o inovador jogo 3D e lan\u00e7ou-o como shareware em 1993.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Com esta mesma atitude, a id Software lan\u00e7ou publicamente o c\u00f3digo-fonte no final dos anos 90, permitindo que as pessoas criassem os seus pr\u00f3prios n\u00edveis, modifica\u00e7\u00f5es e at\u00e9 mesmo revis\u00f5es completamente novas da jogabilidade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De qualquer forma, com os jogos retro como um dos casos de utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o mais comuns (se n\u00e3o o mais comum) para Raspberry Pis, DOOM reina supremo. Por isso, era por a\u00ed que eu queria come\u00e7ar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uma nota r\u00e1pida: como podem ver pela imagem do t\u00edtulo, estou a falar do DOOM cl\u00e1ssico, n\u00e3o do DOOM 3. Mas vou jogar esse na altura certa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DOOM no Raspberry Pi 4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>H\u00e1 muito tempo que gosto de jogar DOOM nos meus Raspberry Pis. Mas h\u00e1 uma d\u00favida sobre qual \u00e9 a melhor vers\u00e3o do DOOM para um Pi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um dos mais comuns <a href=\"https:\/\/doomwiki.org\/wiki\/Source_port\">Motores DOOM<\/a> \u00e9 o Chocolate DOOM. \u00c9 uma das distribui\u00e7\u00f5es mais conservadoras, mantendo-se fiel ao jogo cl\u00e1ssico. Outras variantes populares incluem GZDOOM, Zandronum e Crispy DOOM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Escolhi o Chocolate DOOM, porque \u00e9 bastante leve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colocar o Chocolate DOOM a funcionar num Raspberry Pi 4 \u00e9 bastante simples. \u00c9 uma quest\u00e3o de instalar o Chocolate DOOM e depois decidir quais os ficheiros WAD que gostaria de executar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os arquivos WAD (que significam \"Where's All the Data?\") cont\u00eam os mapas, texturas e sons de diferentes n\u00edveis. Estes s\u00e3o os ficheiros que as pessoas transformam para criar novas varia\u00e7\u00f5es do DOOM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vejamos, ent\u00e3o, uma dessas modifica\u00e7\u00f5es: <a href=\"https:\/\/freedoom.github.io\/download.html\">Liberdade<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O Freedoom cont\u00e9m tr\u00eas formas: Freedoom Phase 1 e Phase 2, que s\u00e3o semelhantes aos jogos cl\u00e1ssicos, e FreeDM, que \u00e9 um mod que tem como objetivo o deathmatch multijogador. Assim, em vez de atacares criaturas criadas, atacas outros jogadores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eu queria us\u00e1-lo como exemplo para mostrar como ele roda no Raspberry Pi 4. N\u00e3o h\u00e1 outros jogadores nem inimigos criados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devo dizer que o FreeDM \u00e9 relativamente suave, mas ocasionalmente fica um pouco pegajoso e podia ser mais suave. Mais uma vez, isto \u00e9 sem inimigos. Com inimigos, a jogabilidade pode abrandar rapidamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por isso, enquanto andava a correr e a apanhar armas ao acaso, decidi correr <em>btop<\/em> para ver como o meu Raspberry Pi 4 se estava a sair com a carga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se olhar para a foto acima, ver\u00e1 rapidamente que o Chocolate DOOM est\u00e1 a 8,8% da carga da CPU. Mas enquanto eu estava testando as coisas, o Chocolate DOOM flutuou entre 8% e 20% da carga da CPU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9 uma quantidade excessiva para uma vers\u00e3o sem inimigos. E, sem surpresa, se fores ao reddit e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Doom\/\">r\/DOOM<\/a>, encontrar\u00e1 uma s\u00e9rie de mensagens com queixas semelhantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por isso, estava a pensar como seria no Raspberry Pi 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DOOM no Raspberry Pi 5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Para ser honesto, teria ficado satisfeito com metade da carga da CPU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sentei-me com o Raspberry Pi 5. Liguei-o <a href=\"https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/keeping-raspberry-pi-5-cool\/\">um Pimoroni Fan SHIM<\/a> (tal como fiz com o meu Raspberry Pi 4). aos pinos GPIO, liguei-o ao monitor e liguei-o com o novo bot\u00e3o de alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assim que arrancou, instalei imediatamente o Chocolate DOOM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Abri o Chocolate DOOM e eis que funcionou na perfei\u00e7\u00e3o. O FreeDM n\u00e3o parecia estar a bloquear de todo, por isso pensei em insistir. Corri o jogo com a contagem mais elevada de fotogramas por segundo durante todo o tempo, sem que ficasse preso. E foi assim com todas as vers\u00f5es do Chocolate DOOM que eu executei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>E, como se pode ver no <em>btop<\/em>O sistema funcionou com cerca de 1% de capacidade da CPU. Isto foi durante todo o tempo. Nunca atingiu 2% com FreeDM ou Freedoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por isso, se est\u00e1 ansioso por jogar com o seu Raspberry Pi 5, o futuro parece risonho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vou fazer mais testes de jogos (incluindo mais testes DOOM) no meu Raspberry Pi 5 - por isso digam-me se quiserem ver alguma coisa em particular!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concurso e boletim informativo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Entretanto, sabemos como \u00e9 frustrante ter de esperar at\u00e9 23 de outubro por um Raspberry Pi 5.
