It could also be that the microSD card is broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re using an older Raspberry Pi OS image, that could cause problems too, even if it worked on another Raspberry Pi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, sometimes you need to switch on your monitor first before your Pi Zero 2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why am I getting 640&#215;480 resolution?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the operating system cannot determine what resolution your display is capable of, it will go into failsafe mode. Either change it in the OS, or turn on your screen before starting your Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chromium hangs frequently<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There&#8217;s one fix that you can do to significantly improve your load times and reduce hangs when running Chromium on your Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It involves increasing the size of the swap file from the default 100MB to 2GB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I tested it on picockpit.com and I saw load times go from 45 seconds to 16 seconds by increasing the swap size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open <strong>Terminal<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in <strong>sudo dphys-swapfile swapoff<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in <strong>sudo nano \/etc\/dphys-swapfile<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the line that says <strong>CONF_SWAPSIZE=100 <\/strong>and change &#8220;100&#8221; it to <strong>2048<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save the file by pressing <strong>CTRL + O<\/strong>, enter, and then exit by pressing <strong>CTRL + X<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in <strong>sudo dphys-swapfile setup<\/strong>. This will take a while<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in <strong>sudo dphys-swapfile swapon<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Chromium and test<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some downsides to this and which we cover in our <a href=\"https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/everything-about-raspberry-pi-zero-2-w\/#swap-file\">Pi Zero 2 W mega article<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, I managed to get it just a bit faster by disabling JavaScript and images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Chromium, go to your Settings menu by entering <strong>chrome:\/\/settings\/<\/strong> into the address bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, go to <strong>Privacy and security<\/strong> on the left sidebar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Site Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, scroll to the <strong>Content<\/strong> section. You will see <strong>JavaScript <\/strong>and <strong>Images<\/strong>. Click on those and disable them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Camera problems on the Pi Zero 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W has a few things that you have to take note if you are using a camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workaround needed to enable camera on Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"657\" height=\"446\" src=\"https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/pi-zero-2-glamor.jpg\" alt=\"pi zero 2 enable glamor for camera\" class=\"wp-image-1428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/pi-zero-2-glamor.jpg 657w, https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/pi-zero-2-glamor-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/picockpit.com\/raspberry-pi\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/pi-zero-2-glamor-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 657px) 100vw, 657px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>When I first installed the camera, I was eager to try out the camera, but unfortunately, libcamera just showed a black screen as if the camera wasn\u2019t connected.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Libcamera also threw an error: \u201cfailed to import fd\u201d. As of Nov. 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.raspberrypi.com\/viewtopic.php?t=323547\">this issue is known to Raspberry Pi engineers<\/a>, who issued a workaround,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA workaround is to open a terminal, <strong>run &#8220;sudo raspi-config&#8221;<\/strong>, <strong>navigate to &#8220;Advanced Options&#8221;<\/strong> and <strong>enable &#8220;Glamor&#8221; graphic acceleration<\/strong>. You can test libcamera by running <strong>libcamera-hello<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can see more commands in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.raspberrypi.com\/documentation\/accessories\/camera.html#libcamera-jpeg\"> the official Raspberry Pi Documentation.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Command <em>tvservice <\/em>throws error<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you try to run <strong>tvservice <\/strong>on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, it will throw an error, like below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div run <strong>sudo raspi-config<\/strong> and then go to <strong><strong>Advanced Options -&gt; GL Driver -&gt; Legacy<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>tvservice <\/strong>will work class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"motioneyeos\">How to get motionEyeOS working on Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest official version of the motionEyeOS does not work on the Pi Zero 2 W but you can <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jawsper\/motioneyeos\/releases\">use a fork by jawsper which works on the Pi Zero 2 W.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s the process, until such a time where we get an official motionEyeOS release that supports the Pi Zero 2.
