A Raspberry Pi Retro Newsfeed<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’re like me, you might have what a doctor could certifiably diagnose as a news addiction. Well then this project is a way to satisfy that news addiction without the doom-scrolling. Instead, you can have a monitor give you a nice retro feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All this project calls for is an old monitor, a Raspberry Pi 3B (you could probably do this with a Zero or maybe even a Pico), and a cable to connect the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Linux Handheld Terminal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Struggling to remember Linux shell commands like lscpu<\/code> or tac<\/code>? This project will turn you into a Linux master in no time! While it’s a project that requires a lot more time and energy than the Retro Newsfeed, it also pays off tremendously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only will you master Linux with your cool new handheld terminal, but you can also get into networking and hacking. And if you put this project together, I can guarantee that you’ll also be a master of hardware projects!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Blackberry Pi Cyberdeck<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you’re looking for a simpler version of the project above, and one with a camera, then this is the cyberdeck for you! It’s a Blackberry-shaped cyberdeck made with a Raspberry Pi Zero W (although you could use a Zero 2 W, of course).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s another fantastic project if you’re looking to play around with programming or networking and you want something handheld and fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Raspberry Pi Pico Air Quality Monitor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Here’s an air quality monitor that gives you important information fast. Best of all, it relies on a Raspberry Pi Pico, so it’s not energy-intensive. On the top, there are LEDs that change colors depending on the air quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if the air quality is good, the LEDs flash blue and if it’s bad, the LEDs flash red. You’ll be able to keep up with the indoor and outdoor air quality at home or in the office!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Raspberry Pi Fractal Art Frame<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This project is perhaps less practical, but far more aesthetically pleasing – it’s a picture frame that creates fractals on e-Paper. By rendering and zooming in on the Mandelbrot set, you’ll bring fractals to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s made with a Raspberry Pi Zero and a Waveshare e-Paper Display HAT. The code is super easy to get installed on the Zero and from there, it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump until you’ve got dynamic art in your living room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
