We’re Removing the Raspberry Pi Reservation Tool

We are very pleased to announce that we are removing our well-known Raspberry Pi reservation tool. This is due to the fact that our shop – buyzero.de – has plenty of Raspberry Pi 5’s!

In other words, the Raspberry Pi shortages are over.

We initially rolled out the reservation tool when stocks began to shrink during the pandemic. We wanted a way for customers to fairly purchase a Raspberry Pi on a first-come first-served basis.

It was also important to provide a mechanism to challenge scalpers, who were taking advantage of the shortage and trying to artificially inflate prices.

This is also why we have a list of Raspberry Pi Approved Resellers. These are the companies that you can trust to give you an honest price.

Over the summer of 2023, the availability of Raspberry Pi products bounced back in a big way. We wrote an article in July titled “Have the Million Unit Months Begun?” about this phenomenon.

At the same time, Raspberry Pi was getting ready to announce the Pi 5. However, they informed everyone, despite the extreme catching up following supply chain problems, there would also be limitations on the availability of Raspberry Pi 5.

For this reason, we made the decision to keep our Raspberry Pi Reservation Tool up.

And now, with the general availability of Raspberry Pi 5, not to mention 4, we are removing our Reservation Tool.

So thank you to everyone who made reservations through the tool rather than going to scalpers.
